Zcash Magazine: Issue 0 / Zero Known (Hardcover)
"Financial privacy is not a niche and should not be treated as inherently suspicious. Frank Porter’s Perfect Money is an exceptional book." - Paul Brigner, Chief Policy and Regulatory Officer, Zcash Open Development Lab (ZODL), on 'Perfect Money'.
THE FIRST ISSUE OF ZCASH MAGAZINE. ISSUE 0. IN HARDCOVER.
Ten years after the first Zcash block was mined, the first magazine is released.
Every payment you make is being watched. This is the magazine about the technology that stops it.
Zcash Magazine Issue 0, "Zero Known," is the first issue of a new magazine about Zcash, the privacy coin built on zero-knowledge proofs. It is a limited proof issue in hardcover, 84 full-color pages, and it is the collector's edition that starts everything. A regular magazine will follow quarterly. This is the one that came first.
Why a hardcover? Because the feed forgets and paper remembers. Zcash turns ten on October 28, 2026, and a decade of private-money history deserves a physical object that lasts. Issue 0 is printed in full color on a hardcover made to stay on a shelf or coffee table for years, and to start a conversation when someone picks it up. Later issues will arrive as regular magazines. This one is the keepsake.
You can subscribe on our site mentioned in the magazine. Issue 1, the first Zcash Magazine in standard magazine format, is planned for quarterly release.
Inside Issue 0:
- The cover story: How a payment can be proven valid without revealing who sent it, who received it, or how much.
- Wall Street buys a shield: The August 2026 NYSE Arca listing of a fund built around a privacy coin, and what it means.
- The Blind Auction: A sealed-bid sale for zkSNARKS NFTs, a refund of everything above the clearing price, and why cypherpunks call it proof that private markets work.
- The ceremony, the flaw and the fix: The six strangers, the toxic waste, the Orchard circuit bug, and how the network patched it in days.
- Zero-knowledge, explained: The famous cave story, illustrated, with no math degree required.
- Timeline, ledger and primary sources: From David Chaum's blind signatures in the 1980s to today, with a reading list for going deeper.
Written for: Crypto veterans, Zcash holders, Bitcoin maximalists who want to understand the privacy side, cypherpunks, journalists, and anyone who has felt uneasy about a financial system that logs everything.
The voice: Sharp, irreverent and bullish on privacy, with real numbers, real dates and no filler. It reads like a thriller and holds up like a briefing.
Why buy it now: Issue 0 is a first edition. It captures a turning point, the moment privacy went from underground idea to a ticker on the New York Stock Exchange. Put it on the coffee table. Give it to the friend who says "I have nothing to hide."
